I can’t believe this was a year ago. One year ago this week, we got the call that would change our lives forever. Within hours, we were on a flight to come meet you. Everything happened so fast. We weren’t “ready” in the way most people would think. We didn’t have bottles, baby clothes, or a nursery waiting for you. But what we did have was love. So much love. And hearts already making room for the little girl we knew we would spend forever loving. I still can’t fully put into words what it felt like to meet you for the first time. It felt holy. Like God was weaving together a story only He could write. You made us parents, but more than that, you changed our lives. You brought a kind of joy, tenderness, and purpose into our home that we never even knew we were missing. This has been the most beautiful year of our lives. Watching you grow, hearing your laugh, rocking you to sleep, kissing your cheeks, hearing “mama,” all the ordinary little moments have somehow felt so special because they’re with you. And you truly have lived up to your name, Haven. You have been a haven to us. A reminder of peace, safety, joy, and the goodness of God. Every single day, you point us back to our ultimate Haven in Him. Her middle name, Nevaeh, was the name her birth mama gave her. We kept it to honor her bravery and the beautiful decision she made to choose life. We are forever grateful to her and to God for choosing us to be havens parents 🤍
