πŸ“Œ How do I add a pin?

  1. Open the Instagram post, reel, or highlight you like.
  2. Tap "Copy link" (mobile share sheet) or "Copy link" from the post menu (desktop).
  3. Open PinThis and tap + Add Pin β€” the URL is auto-detected from your clipboard.
  4. (Optional) Pick a category, add a private note, and tap Add Pin.

Mobile shortcut: on iOS / Android, you can also share the link directly to the PinThis app from the share sheet (coming soon).

πŸ” How does AI search work?

Type any keyword in the search bar β€” PinThis matches the meaning, not just the exact word. Search "breakfast" and you'll get your Turkish "kahvaltΔ±" pins too. Search "dessert" and your cheesecake / baklava / pudding pins all show up. Up to 5 typos are tolerated, and we even search inside comment threads.

πŸ—‚οΈ How do I organize my pins?

Pins go into categories (Food, Travel, Design…) β€” pick one when you save the pin or via the category dropdown later. You can also add tags (#breakfast, #beach) for finer grouping. Topics (community-curated categories) auto-suggest based on your pin's content.

πŸ”’ Public or private pin?

Pins are public by default β€” they appear in the Trends and Discover feeds with your @username attribution. Don't want this? Tap the lock icon on any pin to make it private β€” private pins only appear on your My Pins page.

You can also keep your entire profile private via Preferences β†’ Profile Visibility. Then your /u/<username> page becomes inaccessible to others.

πŸ’¬ Comments and reactions

Tap a pin to see its detail page. Below the image you can leave a comment, react with one of 14 emojis, or reply to other comments Instagram-style. Comments and reactions are public; harassment and offensive content are not allowed (see Terms of Service).

πŸ“‹ Why does PinThis ask for clipboard permission?

To save you a step β€” when you tap "+ Add Pin" with a copied Instagram URL, PinThis can paste it automatically. We never read the clipboard outside the Add Pin flow, and you can always paste manually if you decline the permission.
